 The
3M™ family of VHB™ Tapes (very high bond) are line of
CLOSED CELL acrylic foam tapes. They offer you flexibility in applications
with dynamic forces and/or exterior environments. The acrylic foam
chemistry provides outstanding durability
and performance.
Key benefits:
Easily die-cut – precisely fit
shapes, and aid in assembly.
Strength – Displace traditional
fasteners like rivets, liquid adhesives and spot welds and other
fasteners.
Clean appearance – No more unsightly
rivets or spot welds.
Seals – tape runs the length
of the bond line, and seal. Excellent water and humidity resistance.
Vibration resistant – acrylic
foam distributes stress over entire area, damp vibration.
Durability – in continuous use
for applications for over 25 years.
Seperates metals to reduce potential galvanic corrosion.

Technical Facts:
- Good for most normal outdoor applications
from -40†F– 200†F
- Additional products available for higher
temperature applications
- Bond build is enhanced by higher temperatures.
Min. tack is 50†F or more.
- Foam softens in water, and maintains a strong
bond. Submersion applications may require additional testing
and validation.
- Solvents swell adhesives, not dissolve.
Splash and incidental contact should be fine, solvent submersion
is NOT recommended.
