POSITION: SOURCING SPECIALIST

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Source raw material and or finished goods for Sealing Devices, Inc. Act as the key contact for Sealing Devices inside, outside, estimating, and marketing personnel in regards to material information and cost. Must be able to stay current on industry trends relative to market prices and latest technology improvements. Continually search for world class suppliers, as well as new products that might be able to aid in the overall corporate sales goals relative to growth and profitability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for loading, editing, and maintaining all supplier quotations in our operating system.
• Responsible for all freight, shipping, and office supply contracts.
• Negotiate pricing with suppliers
• Utilize supplier web based system whenever possible to determine pricing and availability of product
• Ability to read and understand drawings
• Update sales and marketing personnel of price increases occurring in the marketplace
• Advise sales and marketing personnel of potential raw material problems occurring in the marketplace
• Be aware of Sealing Devices philosophy relative to inventory valuation and the carrying cost associated with this inventory
• Responsible to follow departmental procedures and work instructions as written and recommend improvements as necessary.
• Any other task/activity assigned by supervisor within the scope of the purchasing system

This position works independently

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires skills including but not limited to the areas of negotiations, interpersonal, communications, purchasing, and supervisory.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to read, comprehend, and interpret all documents associated with the purchasing function. Using own judgement must be able to review options and make recommendations and/or decisions with less than perfect information.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical requirements for this position are minimal.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires as a minimum a 4-year degree in business or purchasing and 2 to 3 years of progressive experience.
