VHB - Very High Bond Tapes

The 3M family of VHB Tapes (very high bond) are line of CLOSED CELL acrylic foam tapes. They offer you flexibility in applications with dynamic forces and/or exterior environments. The acrylic foam chemistry provides outstanding durability and performance.

Key benefits:

• Easily die-cut - precisely fit shapes, and aid in assembly.
• Strength - Displace traditional fasteners like rivets, liquid adhesives and spot welds and other fasteners.
• Clean appearance - No more unsightly rivets or spot welds.
• Seals - tape runs the length of the bond line, and seal. Excellent water and humidity resistance.
• Vibration resistant - acrylic foam distributes stress over entire area, damp vibration.
• Durability - in continuous use for applications for over 25 years.
• Seperates metals to reduce potential galvanic corrosion.

Technical Facts:

• Good for most normal outdoor applications from -40ºF– 200ºF
• Additional products available for higher temperature applications
• Bond build is enhanced by higher temperatures. Min. tack is 50ºF or more.
• Foam softens in water, and maintains a strong bond. Submersion applications may require additional testing and validation.
• Solvents swell adhesives, not dissolve. Splash and incidental contact should be fine, solvent submersion is NOT recommended.
